Calling them impossible until proven otherwise misunderstands how progress actually works. Progress is not an act of mystical defiance. It is an act of engineering, systematic elimination, and recognizing the immutable laws of physics.

I have watched athletes destroy their bodies, founders burn tens of millions of dollars, and organizations collapse into dust because they believed that raw willpower could override reality. They bought into the romantic fiction that the only thing standing between a pipe dream and a gold medal is a lack of intensity.

Let us dismantle the mythology of the wild-eyed visionary.

Romance sells. Pragmatism bores people.

Furthermore, obsessive pragmatism can sometimes cause you to miss low-probability, high-asymmetry opportunities. If you listen exclusively to existing market data, you will never invent the iPhone. Steve Jobs famously noted that people do not know what they want until you show it to them.

However, there is a vast gulf between ignoring focus groups and believing that literal impossibilities will yield to positive thinking. Jobs did not build Apple by wishing hardware into existence. He built it by ruthless design execution, supply chain dominance, and forcing engineers to shrink circuit boards until they fit into pockets. The vision was grand, but the execution was surgical.

Stop Chasing Miracles

If you are stuck on a problem right now, throw away the inspirational quotes. Stop waiting for a lightning bolt of divine madness to clear your path.

Audit your inputs. Identify the friction points. Look at where your assumptions are masquerading as universal laws.

If a goal truly requires you to break the laws of physics or human biology without technological or methodological leverage, you are not being visionary. You are being delusional.

Stop looking for the crazy person to save you. Become the engineer who makes the impossible obsolete.
